I'm scared

I'm scared of Christians who walk around with no stories to tell

I'm scared of Christians who don't know precisely what Jesus delivered them from

My Question:

Is being born again celebrity meets celebrity?

Cause the way you behave, your attitude tells me you must have been a superhero before you met Him

Was He really a Hero to you?

Where you really at the end of the cliff called 'self' before he came to safe you from a hard fall (just like in the movies)?

What is the substantial reality in your own very life of this Jesus you call? 

If I don't know what I've been rescued from

I might as well still be in chains

I might still be in need of rescue

Sometimes I'm scared of me

Yesterday I said ‘I want to be radical for you’

‘I want to be one with You’

I want to go for You

‘Then go ahead' I heard Him say

'Pay the price'

'Come, run, chase, dance'

'The floor is yours'

'You are as close as you want to be'

'The curtains are torn'

In silence, I made a quick mental note; I needed to start making the choices I didn’t know I was making

Ponder:

We all want a deep level with God, that intimate sensing that he is always there and of course the pure power that comes with it but some have been misguided that this very benefit of the christian is for 'some' so they cut down the chase and 'throw caution to the wind'. 

Be reminded of James 4:8 which says to us 'Draw near to God and He will draw near to you'. It isn't for some and we are as close as we want to be.

Question of The Day:

In drawing near, there is a price we must each pay. How do we end up paying a price if we do not consciously pay this price? What are the choices we make when we aren't making the choices expected of us from God? I would love to read your comments :)

Welcome to the first iRecommend column for the year and really I'm so excited about this one cause it's a very unique music project. It's Rachel Chan's debut 'Go'. She's 16 and daughter of renowned speaker and author Francis Chan. Yes the album already got some very critical reviews on some major sites but I must say I discovered something entirely different listening to it.

Sincerely, I think Chan's music is young and yet so deep and yes refreshing. 'Lame' and 'You and Your Love' are two songs you don't want to miss hearing on the album. Do check it out!

I have turned it over in my mind till I knew it was almost over
'Will it be today?'
Is it today, I get o write that piece, that amazing one that would change the world.
Maybe tomorrow so I'll wait for tomorrow
But tomorrow never comes in my waiting
The tomorrow i wait for ends up being another day waiting for tomorrow
So I start. . .

There's a new idea running around of waiting till we have it all together
Waiting till the weather' fine till we go out to play
If you're indoors and waiting and pulling back the curtains, maybe I suggest to you you might never leave the house if you keep doing that
And may I also suggest to you: It's time

It's time to be all you were made to be
It's time to run into the open and play be it sun or rain
It's time to take on the journey even it's raining on the outside

Look! We can never be who we want to be from where we are
You feel weak? not up to the task? You feel you don't have the strength yet?
My question for you: How would you know you've got power if you aren't doing anything
Power is being able to do something
Start here!
Just right were you are
Your prayer closet isn't an opportunity to hide
Are you asking God to do things He's already done
Are you waiting for a Messiah when He's already dead,risen and glorified
It's time to get out and do that which you were made for
You want to walk on water?
Then you've got to get out of the boat
Just Start!

P.S. - This really was borne out of my wanting to write 'the appropriate' new year post. And I wrote a couple of stuffs and kept turning them down that they weren't appropriate enough to start off the new year. But you know what, it just occurred to me: Just Start! And that's what I did.
Happy new year to my readers. It's a great year ahead, lots of great things God has in store for us but we must start, not letting the setbacks of the year before hold us down. We are never ready, so we cold just get it started. Have a great year ahead :)
