All I once held dear the water took away
It seems like a part of me the water took way

I have failed to place my trust in the right places

The water like a flood came and washed it all away

That's why a part of me felt carried away when the water came and took it all
Now I see better the hazy things

But do we see by heart the depth of the things you've done?
We cloud up the cleared path of grace with the theology of the former race
Do we know God?

We try to put God in a box but sorry God escaped at the cross
Father show us
The intentions of your heart
Why you came
Why you gave
All you had on a cross
Show us the road to your heart
In your heart is the precious heart we lost in Eden

The way of grace
Help us learn that we do not learn grace by knowing it's definition

That a veil is always to be removed

THE TRAITOR WITHIN
Our hope
That the traitor within becomes our dog
Our watch dog
I do all I can to keep this castle safe
But at the brink of victory
You let down the castle doors and let him in without my consent
Or is it?
This is my castle
This is my house
The rooms I have given as a sanctuary for the Holy
But how?
How come?
All of sudden I realize
Like I'm awaken from a drunken slumber
The drug wears off and I find the enemy having a feast at the table of my heart
I find the enemy having a room all to himself
I chase him out
And I try to start over again
At my sore moments
In the quietness of a morning after the slumber of drunkenness
I wonder out loud sometimes
How did He ever get in this time
I swear for the thousandth time never to let him again
And I try to start over again
There's a traitor within
He is the flesh of old
He needs to be mastered
Or else he will be master
Sin is always knocking at our heart-doors
Tap tap tap
Some loud
Some not so loud
When the traitor is master
It is not so loud
When he is mastered
It is just so loud
When the traitor opens the door
He is still master
He has not been mastered
We haven't found ourselves a watch dog
We keep in us, in our castle
A dragon capable of devouring
Our dream
That our castles are safe from all that flaws
Our fantasy
That dragons become dogs overnight
Our reality
The dragon has been defeated twice
And the third defeat already a prophecy which has come to pass in a reality that transcends our minds
Our hope
That the traitor within
Who is the flesh of old
Becomes our watch dog
We rather have a watch dog living in our castle than a dragon

THE NOSE KNOWS
For so long, I tried
I changed all I could
The outside
The things I could grasp
The things people could see
The things I could see when I tend to be shortsighted
I changed them and I thought I changed
If the world could be honest
They could have just told me
I was still the same old me
Somehow somewhere was the same old me behind all the things I tried to change
The things that really matter aren't things we can grasp
If something stinks in the fridge
You clean the outside for all eternity
The day you open up the fridge again
The nose knows something is still wrong
Real change comes from within
Real change comes when we let the One who can grasp the things we can't grasp grasp the things in need of grasping
Changing the outside is like wasting precious time
When change happens on the inside, it shows on the outside
I have tried to change for a while
And I'm learning
One thing I know is. . . .
The nose knows
If I clean the outside and bottle up some trash on the inside
The nose knows
If I pretend all is well and all isn't really well
The nose knows
If I try to substitute pretty things for inner beauty
The nose knows
I desire change
Though difficult but worth it
In the end the fridge gets opened up
In the end all things are revealed
In the end all deeds are seen in the light of grace
I desire change
Though difficult but transforming
Ask the caterpillar how it became the beautiful butterfly we love to admire
Change
From the inside out
It isn't a caterpillar anymore
Call it one and it flutters away as the butterfly it is
I desire change
Though difficult but liberating
It would help us love the light and dance in it
It would turn white washed tombs into the dwelling of the Holy
It would turn Saul into Paul
It would turn the crawling caterpillar into the flying butterfly we see
I desire change
But the nose knows
When true change happens and when it don't
The nose knows
What really are we scared of !
Change?
But it's beautiful in it's entirety
Oh. . .
That the deeds of the dark would be revealed in the light?
That light would dwell where darkness once encroached?
That a possibility of good could rise from the ashes of the bad?
What are we afraid of?
I desire change
But of one thing I'm sure
When the deeds of the dark are revealed if we choose to dance in the light
It would not be a mess but a message
